Job Description

Oversee the daily activities of the sales floor at Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center, to include:

  • Sales of meat products, dairy products and fountain drinks to retail customers

  • Supervision and training of all employees of the Rosenthal retail sales area.

  • Coordination and management of all employee schedules associated with the retail sales area.

  • Manage operation of electronic cash register, make change and perform associated accounting for all sales.

  • Responsible for all customer service, including greeting customers, inquiries, comments and complaints.

  • Maintain inventory of supplies and order supplies associated with the retail sales area.

  • Maintain computerized system of daily sales records of meat products, dairy products and fountain drinks.

  • Prepare deposits to Texas AgriLife Research.

  • Receive and fill all orders taken via phone or email.

  • Maintain environment and appearance of the Rosenthal retail sales area.

  • Reconcile and audit monthly statements from VISA, MasterCard, Discover and the Aggie Bucks program.

  • Estimate and obtain meat products for sales from the processing department of the Rosenthal Meat Science and Technology Center.

  • Serve as liaison between the Rosenthal Center and County Health Department.

  • Responsible for printing and distribution of monthly sales flier to all on- and off-campus customers.

  • Coordinate advertising campaigns of monthly sales for both print and social media outlets. Oversee distribution of sales flier to all on- and off- campus customers.

  • Create and maintain purchase orders for all products used within the Rosenthal Center.

  • Prepare Rosenthal retail area for promotional sales, including marketing sales items.

  • Receive and process all special orders and prepare for shipping.

Perform other job-related responsibilities as necessary.

Required Education and Experience:-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.-Two years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:-Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. Verbal and written communication skills. -Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
