We are hiring summer interns for our Global Investigations - Forensic Accounting and Dispute Resolution team for Summer 2024. Our eight-week summer internship program is technically challenging and will provide a realistic view of our accounting consulting practice. We offer comprehensive orientation and training for our interns. When you intern with us, you will gain clarity about what a consultant does and where your interests lie. Ideal candidates will be accounting majors who are prepared to become CPAs and are interested in careers in forensic accounting. Finance majors planning to become CPA eligible will also be considered. If you're an effective communicator, analytical, team-oriented, and love to be challenged, you could be our perfect fit!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in expert witness and highly complex accounting litigation cases. Engagements include insurance insolvency, accountant malpractice, fraud and embezzlement, and director and officer liability.

  • Assist with the review of documents and perform review and analysis of transactions to understand key facts, details and provide summary analysis as part of a team.

  • Review legal evidence as part of document discovery process.

  • Research accounting and auditing guidance, including upcoming and proposed rules.

  • Assist in writing filings to be submitted to the court.

  • Analyze and prepare economic damages and lost profit calculations.

  • Prepare written reports and narratives to be sent to clients.

  • Consult with counsel to provide insight during depositions and trial.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

  • Interest in the Forensic Accounting field and preparing to become a CPAs.

  • Exhibit effective communication and analytical skills.

    Additional Job Details:

  • Eight-week internship within our local office in Reston, VA.

  • Comprehensive orientation and training provided on-site.

  • Non-local travel is not expected.

  • Hybrid work schedule available, typically with 2-3 days in our office in Reston, Virginia.
