PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $178,900.00-$218,400.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $138,800.00 - $258,500.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. We also offer health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts, as well as health savings accounts, to eligible employees. Employees are able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan and employer-funded retirement plan. Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

The Cards and Payments Principal Enterprise Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of BECU by leading and ensuring the development and execution of long-range technology architectural roadmap across all Technology disciplines. Your expertise will anticipate future business needs and maximize long-term technology investment. Your innovative architectural solutions will partner with senior leaders across BECU to establish and maintain standards and solutions that align with BECU’s strategic goals, ultimately providing clear constraints for enterprise product delivery teams.

To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you call any of these states home, you're in luck! We offer the flexibility of remote work for residents in these locations, allowing you to contribute from the comfort of your own home.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead and Set Long-Term Agenda: Shape the long term agenda for BECU Enterprise Architecture forums related to cards and payments and provide directional leadership to other technology and business architects.

  • Develop Comprehensive Technical Blueprint: Create and maintain a comprehensive technical blueprint of the team's services, crafting solution options aligned with Architecture and Technology services and business sponsor's missions, goals, and objectives.

  • Guide Strategic Directions for Technology Roadmap: Develop, guide, and set strategic directions for the technology roadmap for your assigned area, collaborating and extensively socializing roadmaps with business and Technology partners to ensure it creates both business value and opportunities to apply technical innovations to customer needs.

  • Establish and Maintain Architecture Standards: Lead the establishment and maintenance of architecture standards, processes, and constraints across the organization.

  • Provide Strategic Guidance and Mentorship: Offer strategic guidance, mentorship, and technical expertise to technical teams across multiple disciplines and projects while effectively articulating the value of architecture and technology.

  • Produce Blueprints and Collaborate with Production Support: Produce blueprints that guide the development and implementation of business solutions across multiple projects, providing direction to technical teams during project delivery and ensuring implementations support technology and business roadmaps. Collaborate with production support efforts to resolve near-term domain-specific architectural issues and remove architectural design debt.

  • Technology Specific Financial and Technological Analysis: Provide technology-specific financial and technological analysis to Technology and Business leadership across teams to break down barriers and foster an understanding of domain services and architecture standards.

  • Recommend Third-Party Software Platforms: Proactively review and recommend the selection of third-party software platforms and monitor the industry solution landscape to track the development of available solutions and identify opportunities for adapting the team's solution architecture.

  • Mentor Peers and Business Partners: Mentor technology peers and business partners in best practices associated with enterprise architecture.

QUALIFICATIONS : Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum of ten years of experience designing and implementing enterprise architectures

  • Minimum seven years of experience in a project lead role

  • Minimum three years of experience working on architectures focused on the cards and payments areas

  • Ability to communicate very technically challenging concepts to a broad audience

  • Broad knowledge of technologies and supplier capabilities

  • Experience working within large organizations

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred

  • Certification in LEAN, Agile/Scrum, or ITIL principals with experience implementing one of these practices

  • Experience with modern technology service architectural hosting, security, and risk management concerns

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft infrastructure and solution stacks operating in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid hosting environments

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, strategic thinking and decision making, planning, and negotiation skills

  • Proficient verbal and written skills

  • Occasional travel to conferences, training events, and vendor sites
