OneRail Director, Finance (Remote Work Available) in Orlando, Florida

With great success comes great opportunity! OneRail is expanding its Finance team seeking a next-generation financial and business leader to join as our Director, Finance. This is an ideal position for an accomplished finance professional ultimately interested in pursuing a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at a high-growth company in the future.

Reporting to OneRail’s CFO, the Director, Finance will be responsible for the daily management of OneRail’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function, including OneRail’s financial model; budgeting, planning and forecasting; managing new deal reviews; and supporting the CFO and CEO with ad hoc research. The Director, Finance will be involved in developing presentations to the Board of Directors, assisting the CFO and CEO with fundraising, and developing OneRail’s business strategy.

The Director, Finance will work closely with OneRail’s Director of Accounting and Accounting staff to ensure coordination and fidelity of forecasts with reported results. The role will also work closely with the CFO, Accounting team, and the People Operations (HR) and Information Technology (IT) staff to enhance and integrate Finance, HR, and IT functions and ensure proper processes and controls for all Finance and other company functions.

Finally, as a high-profile leader at OneRail, the Director, Finance will work with the CFO and senior management team to create and sustain a great workplace within the Finance department and OneRail for competent, highly motivated, and results-oriented people.

While remote work for this role is available, candidates with the ability to work onsite at within our Orlando, FL (32819) HQ will be given preference.

Additionally, total compensation for this role will consist of a combination of cash and equity grant(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Budgeting and Forecasting : Manage the company’s dynamic financial model to forecast the implications of new opportunities and information. Support the CFO in periodic revenue, expense and capital budgeting processes, including providing department leaders with budget guidance, timelines, tools, training and hands-on assistance; and tracking adherence to goals and budgets.

  • KPIs and Pricing:   Develop and monitor achievement of financial and operating KPIs. Ensure accurate and profitable pricing of the company’s SaaS products and delivery services.

  • Financial Analytics, Advice and Counsel : Provide and support investor reporting and relations to current Board members and future investors as part of future growth capital fundraising.

  • Department Financial Guidance : Act as a Finance advisor to the functional leaders throughout OneRail by conducting in-depth financial analysis and providing expert financial perspective and opinions on their operations and issues.

  • Special Projects and Back-up:   Lead and/or participate in special projects and activities as requested. Assume responsibility for the Finance department in the absence of the CFO.

    Education & Experience Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.

  • Master’s degree in accounting, finance or an MBA is preferred. A CPA is desirable.

  • Experience in an investment banking, management consulting, and/or public accounting firm is preferred.

  • Significant experience at a high-growth software and/or business services company is preferred.

  • Significant experience raising capital; working with professional investors; and working with boards of directors and senior executives is preferred.

  • Technically proficient in GAAP, especially as applied to software-as-a-service (SaaS) and business services companies, is preferred.
