Enterprise Data Governance & Platforms (EDGP) is part of the larger Enterprise Digital & Data Solutions (EDDS) organization. EDGP improves the customer experience & drives business growth through robust enterprise-wide data policies & governance & enabling a data-driven culture, while developing digital & data platforms that provide insightful customer relationships & allow users to leverage enterprise-wide data capabilities.

With digital giants making inroads into the global payments industry & technology transforming how digital information is shared & managed, data & AI are emerging as focal points in negotiations. As such, American Express must continue to advance its overall data strategy to keep pace in the emerging data economy; this role is part of the Enterprise Data Sharing Strategy team, which is tasked with driving incremental business & customer value through the creation of inbound & outbound data strategies, safeguarding of customer & Enterprise interests, considering the ethical implications of data sharing & usage, & deepening of third-party relationships that align with Blue Box Values.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Proactively advise internal business partners on data-driven initiatives for key strategic partnerships, products, & services with a focus on leveraging our data as a strategic asset.

  • Lead the team’s digital advertising practice area—including support strategic Data Rider negotiations, articulate Business requirements & strategic data positions, & partner closely with GCO Colleagues & Marketers.

  • Identify opportunities to create strategic positions & principles to empower the organization & evaluate new partnership opportunities more quickly.

  • Negotiate & influence cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate business alignment.

  • Perform internal & external benchmarking to articulate the value of American Express data & through research & consultative engagement.

  • Provide thought leadership around how new technologies fit into our data sharing strategy; animate working groups, & help "connecting the dots" across the enterprise to drive & accelerate new initiatives.

  • Prepare & lead trainings to educate a wide range of audiences on the defined strategy & supporting processes.

Qualification Requirements:

We are looking for highly motivated individuals with strong partnership & strategy experience, who can support engagements with multiple business units across American Express with a wide array of data-sharing issues.

  • 5 years of related work experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation & influencing skills with the ability to work with stakeholders across different functions, colleagues at all levels, & with external partners

  • Strong interest in digital ecosystems, digital advertising, artificial intelligence, & new data technologies

  • Experience in leading & driving projects with cross-functional teams

  • Excellent oral & communication skills, experience in presenting to a wide range of audiences

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
