How Will You Contribute?

Manage the Route Accounting Department in all 5 facilities. Provide direct hands-on oversight where necessary. Align with Senior Management on annual targets and key initiatives and cascade them to your direct reports. Make recommendations to senior management for improvements to the activities, processes, and procedures within the department. Provide necessary reporting of route accounting transactions as required.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the accurate and timely completion of all route accounting on a daily basis.

  • Schedule hours and staffing requirements.

  • Communicate relevant feedback to Senior Management.

  • Safeguard against theft of company assets.

  • Reconcile deposits of scanned check batches with the Accounting Team.

  • File and manage bank claims re: scanned check issues.

Supervise Personnel

  • Direct and supervise the Route Accounting Supervisors.

  • Assist Route Accounting Supervisors with any settlement issues.

  • Set performance standards.

Training and Development

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of all Route Accounting AR Procedures relating to the Drivers.

  • Communicate procedural/system problems to Senior Management.

  • Provide onsite training and review of the Standard Operating Procedures in all facilities.

  • Develop professional skills of staff.

Communicate with Operations

  • Communicate all procedural or settlement discrepancies with the Operations Department so that the daily work is settled efficiently and accurately

Maintain and analyze the Driver’s Accounts Receivable

  • Research and identify any discrepancies

  • Submit adjustments for discrepancies

Position Requirements:

  • College Degree preferred

  • A degree in finance or accounting is a strong plus.

  • Travel Required to 5 facilities

  • 2-3 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or Route Accounting experience

  • 1 year of supervisory experience

  • Computer literacy

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Adaptable

  • Positive and solution-oriented

Accountability: Directly Accountable to the Assistant Controller

Salary: $80,000.00-$85,000.00

It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
