Morgan Stanley ISG Management, Sustainable Finance Analyst in New York, New York

The position available is a role within the ISG Management team. The Sustainable Finance team within ISG is responsible for scaling business opportunities and defining internal processes and coordination focused on sustainable finance activities across the ISG businesses. The team is integrated in various workstreams focused on identifying risks, implementing internal governance processes and coordination within the business unit in support of Morgan Stanley’s sustainability commitments and targets, including our published Net-Zero by 2050 ambition. The team’s mandate is to help ISG business units deliver client solutions across the division in an integrated and risk-adjusted way, and to ensure a harmonized and coordinated approach to governance on sustainable finance matters across Investment Banking, Global Capital Markets, Fixed Income, and Institutional Equity Divisions.

The Analyst will be required to work with senior members of the ISG Management team, and others cross-functionally and cross-divisionally. The individual will be responsible for supporting the team on a variety of projects. The team is in search of a well-rounded candidate who is a self-starter and entrepreneurial with a skillset grounded in analytics and interest in corporate finance that can be applied to sustainable finance disciplines.

Key Responsibilities: • Produce thoughtful sustainable finance presentations and insights for internal partners, clients and senior leadership • Support the ISG Sustainable Finance team to ensure connectivity across divisions to deliver effective governance, risk management and solutions to clients • Prosecute the ISG Sustainable Finance reporting responsibilities by tracking metrics, aggregating data, analyzing data and ensuring accuracy, rigor and a high standard of quality in the data • Develop presentation materials on a range of sustainable finance topics, including sustainability themes, market dynamics, risk issues, governance and new business initiatives • Coordinate with multiple constituents across the Institutional Securities Divisions, Global Sustainability Office, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Internal Audit and others as needed

• 0-3 years of experience in Sustainable Finance, Capital Markets or Investment Banking • Excellent project management skills, balancing multiple projects • Strong analytical skills and the ability to synthesize the analysis succinctly • Extraordinarily high level of motivation and commitment to working hard • Excellence in delivering quality work with attention to detail • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Commercial instinct and ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines • Bachelor’s degree required; an MBA, CA and/or CFA designation a plus • Strong interest in sustainability themes, with formal education in these themes a plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $85,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
