Vidrio Financial LLC Director - Data Management in New York, New York

Vidrio Financial LLC, in New York, NY seeks a Director - Data Management. DUTIES:Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop and interpret information that assists management with decision making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions. May collect and analyze data and develop decision support software, services, or products. Present the results of mathematical modeling and data analysis to management or other end users. Define data requirements, and gather and validate information, applying judgment and statistical tests. Design, conduct, and evaluate experimental operational models in cases where models cannot be developed from existing data. Supervise a team of Associates and ensure data management to develop, implement, and complete projects while ensuring a high level of data quality. Collect business intelligence data from available fund reports. Manage timely flow of business intelligence information to users. Create business intelligence tools or systems, including design of related, spreadsheets, or outputs. Oversee the collection of information into the business data warehouse, build analytic solutions using various big data techniques and tools, and document these solutions and the technical data architecture. Determine data needs and develop strategies to meet those needs. Synthesize current business intelligence or trend data to support recommendations for action. Manage Data Quality and Accuracy. Responsible for overseeing the implementation of processes and procedures designed to maintain Data Quality such as data validation and quality control. Supervise the monitoring of data sources and ensure that data is properly entered, stored and maintained to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Supervise and direct Associates on the Data Management team throughout the process of gathering and monitoring the uploading of information with respect to hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and more. Lead Data Analysis efforts by working with other departments to identify data trends and patterns. This includes utilizing data visualization tools to identify trends and insights. Manage the process of generating risk and exposure, attribution, and information about these funds by supervising the processing of data files from our service providers. Implement Vidrio proprietary systems to manage the team that utilizes complex mathematical formulas to analyze data and research industry sectors and market capitalization to prepare risk exposure, concentration, and attribution reports. Lead the development of financial models that measure the probability of loss on an investment, especially in highly volatile commodities. Oversee Associates in the implementation of risk assessment techniques in order to minimize the probability that a given portfolio will incur large losses. Oversee the Data Management Team’s data quality control process by contributing to the ongoing development and documentation of our proprietary data and risk monitoring systems. Domestic travel required no more than 5% of the time. Telecommuting permitted up to two days per week.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum Educational Requirements:Master’s degree or its equivalent in Mathematics, Finance, or a closely related academic disciplineMinimum Prior Work Experience Requirements:Two (2) years of experience in the position offered, Associate - Data Management, or a related position. Minimum Special Requirements:Two (2) years of experience in the position offered or a related position must include at least two years of experience with each of the following:1.Calculating conditional value at risk and producing CVaR and factor sensitivity reports;2.Processing, monitoring, and analyzing risk exposure, attribution, information about hedge funds by establishing positions and extracting profit and loss data from service providers;3.Utilizing complex mathematical formulas to analyze data and research industry sectors and market capitalization to prepare risk exposure, concentration, and attribution reports;4.Building Value At Risk ("VaR") models;5.Measuring the historical trends and volatility of the investment; and6.Collecting and processing data for clients in the Finance industry.Telecommuting permitted up to two days per week.Salary offered: $90,000 - $100,000To apply, please email resume to gygmy.gonnot@vidrio.com.
