Position Overview\ Reporting to the divisional Production Manager, the Cabinet Maker is a specialized role in the Cabinets and Millwork division. The Cabinet Maker will encompass operation of woodworking machines, use of hand tools, prepare measurements of interior space, and the ability to read and understand shop drawings.

\ Job Duties

Operation of woodworking machines and use of hand tools to cut, shape and form wood

Knowledge of building materials

Prepare and interpret drawings and blueprints

Proper measuring of the interior space is imperative

Prepare work estimates

Able to custom build pieces in an efficient manner

Provide excellent customer service

Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines

Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other peoples property and information

Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite

Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment

Comply with all policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements

Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person

This role could be required to act as a lead periodically as designated by their manager\ \ Qualifications

Post secondary cabinetry courses / certification

2+ years experience in related field

Strong ability to read and interpret shop drawings

Ability to problem-solve to achieve design intent

Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices

Ability to work within a team or independently as needed

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment

Willing to work on call and weekends when requested
