LUDLOW ABILITY TO WORK 12 HOUR SHIFTS REQUIRED Medical Assistant Job Summary: The certified Medical Assistant (MA) works alongside the Medical direction of Convenient MD. The MA is provided with the education and skills of medication administration (prescription meds-NH&ME only), patient education, and general clinical skills. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for working alongside all other clinical team members to complete all shared clinical responsibilities and tasks within their scope of practice. Required Skills and Competencies: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, Holiday Demonstrates authenticity, understanding of others and promotion of strong relationships between self and patients, team members and the external community. Excellent written and verbal communication skills to prepare reports and related documents and to maintain working relationships with physicians and other team members. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain confidentiality with all patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Identifies better ways of working, be resourceful to achieve the best outcomes for patients, the team and the organization. Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Education and Credentials: Medical Assisting Certification Required (CMA, RMA or CCMA) Certification and or equivalent Degree related to Medical Assistant, required. High School Diploma, required Basic Life Supports (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals (Online Courses & Certifications Not Accepted). Experience: Two years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferred. 1-2 years of patient triage experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Department, preferred. Travel: Must be able to work at a minimum of three (3) other ConvenientMD locations within a one (1) hour travel distance from your primary clinic. Required to travel for training shifts which will occur outside of your primary clinic within a one (1) hour commute. Essential Job Functions: Patient triage, to include but not limited to: vital signs; medical history; observational examination. Supports clinical care standards through adherence to existing CMD policies and procedures. Assists with patient inquires, reporting test results, communicate medication / therapy treatment plan and or changes to medication / therapy treatment plan. Support in training and precepting new clinic team members. Provides professional assessments within scope, appropriately triages and prioritize treatments according to the urgency of need, and initiates medical care to patients arriving at the Urgent Care Clinic. Provides health care services to patients for laboratory testing, diagnostic testing, examination, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic and acute episodic illnesses and minor injuries. Performs Testing Procedures such as; Vision Testing, Hearing Or Audiometry Testing, Urine Drug Screen Testing, Breath Alcohol Testing, Lift Testing, Peak Flow Testing, Pulmonary Function Testing (Spirometry), Impact Testing, Ear Irrigation and Eye Wash Flushing. Perform Point of Care Testing such as; Strep, Flu, RSV, Sars-Cov-2, Capillary Glucose, Mono, HCG, Urinalysis, Fobt/Guaiac, Lipid Panel and Chemistry Perform Airway Management such as; Nebulizer Treatment, Oral Suctioning, Oropharyngeal And Nasopharyngeal Airway, Oxygen Administration and Ventilation with Ambu Bag. Perform Cardiac Management such as; 12 Lead ECG, AED and CPR.
