Waste Connections of Canada , a leader in non-hazardous solid waste management in North America, is looking for a passionate and dedicated Operations Supervisor to lead our vibrant team in the Kitchener district. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on our daily operations while promoting safety and operational excellence.

About This Opportunity: As an operations supervisor, you will inspire a team of professional commercial truck drivers and ensure our services are delivered safely, efficiently, and with the highest level of customer service. You will be at the heart of our operations, making strategic decisions that affect our daily activities and long-term goals.

Your contribution:

  • Lead with Safety: Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards through regular driver observations, monthly safety meetings, and strict compliance with environmental health and safety programs.

  • Drive Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations of multiple routes, conduct operational audits, and ensure all activities are completed with precision and efficiency.

  • Manage and Develop Talent: Engage in performance management through ongoing feedback and support, utilizing the progressive discipline process to foster our safety-oriented culture.

  • Enhance Customer Satisfaction: Coordinate effectively with dispatchers to ensure timely deliveries and address service challenges swiftly, enhancing our customer service commitment.

  • Contribute to Strategic Planning: Participate in the annual budgetary process, helping to shape the financial and operational strategy of the district.

Your DNA:

  • A proactive leader with a college diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • A valid DZ driver’s license or higher, with a commitment to safety and compliance with DOT regulations.

  • Strong analytical skills, proficient in Microsoft Office for data entry and analysis.

  • A self-motivated individual, with a strong initiative to improve processes and outcomes.
