Compensation Overview

The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

$151,300.00 - $249,600.00

As the AVP, Leadership Development, you will develop and implement innovative Leadership Development Strategies from early career leaders through executive talent. You will leverage your collaboration skills and background in leadership development to modernize our approach to preparing leaders to drive business success, and to develop and engage a hybrid workforce. You will advance the technology ecosystem in support of leadership development solutions.

Strategy Development:

  • Understand the external market and best practices, including current and emerging learning technology solutions, to develop and implement the most effective leadership development strategies to meet business objectives and ensure our programs remain relevant. Build relationships with external organizations, industry experts and academic institutions to continually evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development practices through benchmarking analyses.

  • Utilize deep knowledge of buy vs. build strategies to evaluate options, in collaboration with technology and learning partners, for developing leadership capabilities internally versus partnering with external vendors or consultants.

Program Design and Implementation:

  • Design and oversee the implementation of leadership development programs, including a blended learning approach that combines in-person workshops, online courses, coaching, and other modalities while leveraging modern delivery technologies.

  • In situations where vendor products and services are used, closely evaluate proposals, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the successful delivery of leadership development solutions.

  • Facilitate, as needed, including executive level programming.

  • Monitor the effectiveness of leadership development initiatives through metrics such as participant feedback, performance outcomes, and employee engagement surveys.

Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to understand organizational goals and develop a strategic plan for leadership development aligned with the company's objectives. Provide regular updates on the progress and impact of leadership development efforts.

  • Partner with HR and business leaders to drive a consistent enterprise approach, strategy, and implementation of leadership development practices.

  • Collaborate with Enterprise Learning and Corporate Technology to ensure awareness and alignment of learning technology needs and priorities.

Team Leadership

  • Leads a team of Leadership Development Professionals in the design and delivery of Leadership Development programs and resources.

  • Ensure team has the capability to provide best in class leadership development solutions aligned with business strategies and learning best practices.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Master’s Degree in human resources, behavioral science, industrial/organizational psychology or a related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in leadership development with strong understanding of leadership theories, adult learning principles and talent management practices.

  • 5+ years managing leadership development professionals.

  • Expert level facilitation skills including ability to facilitate engaging learning at the executive level and coach others in facilitation.

  • Proven track record of designing and implementing successful leadership development programs including self-directed, blended/hybrid learning and in-person and virtual classroom.

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment, with excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate and influence decisions across all levels of the organization.

  • Uses research and data to identify benchmarks and modern, best-in-class approaches to leadership development.

  • Previous experience capturing metrics and creating reports that drive insights and decision-making.

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to find innovative solutions to problems and influence a team to achieve business goals.

  • Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

  • Certification in leadership coaching, assessments, or related area.

  • Exceptional project management skills with experience selecting and managing external vendors (including buy vs. build analysis), managing multiple competing priorities simultaneously and following through to ensure excellence in execution.

  • Technological mindset with the ability to assess and use state-of-the-art technologies supporting talent, learning and development, internal talent marketplace, and career and performance development.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.

  • Eight years of Human Resource experience with some experience in talent management, employee engagement, organizational development, leadership development, succession management, career development, and/or relationship management.
