The Department of Education, Division of Federal Programs is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant 1 to serve as a liaison for our office. This position involves assisting in the development of educational administration policies and calls for requisite skills in administrative procedures related to federal programs, planning, development, and liaison abilities necessary to function across division and bureau lines. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will review local education agencies' (LEA) consolidated applications, funding adjustments, budget revisions, and final expenditure reports in the eGrants system with direct responsibility for checking for completeness of applications. Work includes administering the fiscal components by reviewing all applications for accuracy and fiscal compliance and communicating any revisions to LEAs. You will concentrate on providing technical assistance, reviewing budgets for accuracy, as well as designing presentations. Examples of work include: Providing detailed technical assistance to local educational agency administrators on how to identify eligible attendance areas and review program applications to ensure adherence to federal regulations Checking accuracy of original and revised budgets and budget codes Designing and delivering presentations at virtual and in-person trainings and conferences pertaining to rules and regulations of federal programs information, including fiscal compliance and non-public data

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday every week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Such training as may have been gained through graduation from a four year college or university; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
