Corewell Health Neurosciences Director of APP Services in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Job Summary
The Neurosciences Director of APP Services, will be responsible for implementing key initiatives and tactics for advanced practice providers (APP) services within the clinical service line. Implements long- and short-range plans that focus on APP performance, development, scope of practice, team based models of care/utilization and recruitment/retention initiatives in collaboration with clinical service line leadership. Assure that a high quality of service and experience is provided and that all activities are in accordance with the Corewell Health mission, vision and standard of care. Position will typically be 30% administrative and 70% clinical in area of expertise. This key position reports directly to Dr. Aiesha Ahmed, VP, Chief of Neuroscience
Responsibilities
Actively engaged in the recruitment process of APPs within the clinical service line. Leads the APP onboarding/mentoring program and continuing education programs within the clinical service line.
Develops and implements one (1) and five (5) year plans regarding people, program and service development in collaboration with the service line leadership. Maintains current knowledge and stays informed of current and future legislative issues as they relate to APPs.

Including but not limited to: team based care models, quality of care, clinical service line growth, recruitment of top APP’s, team based care utilization, scope of practice, APP performance and professional development, APP engagement and citizenship, student education
Participate and lead committees as requested.
Proactive review and active management of financial performance and quality care, including prompt development of action planning for variances.
Proactive review and development of metrics related to clinical quality and performance, patient experience, and financial performance
Provides leadership for the effective management of APP performance within the clinical service line which include oversight of APP leads for the 5 divisions of the CSL. Coaches and mentors APPs and APP leaders.
Have the ability to understand the nuances of the different inpatient and outpatient care models and be able to work with senior service line leadership and divisional leaders as well as external stakeholder such as compliance, compensation, legal departments etc.
Ideal Candidate Specifications:
Master's Degree in business, health care management or related field MBA or similar management degree preferred
Proven relevant experience in clinical practice as an APP with 5-7 years of Neurosciences experience (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Pain, PM&R)
One year of relevant experience in a leadership role preferred
Preferred experience working in a multispecialty group practice with physicians from diverse backgrounds and perspectives in acute, ambulatory, chronic and preventive care environments
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills, time management and organizational skills
Ability to make quality-based decisions; analytical, with strong problem-solving skills
