POSITION PROFILE

Perform a front line leadership role in support of the Knoll Grand Rapids Maintenance Department. Supervise, plan, coordinate and control all aspects of the maintenance Associates, building maintenance and facilities contracts. Establish, implement and support manufacturing processes and equipment through formal preventative maintenance program. Ensure that tasks and activities are completed safely , efficiently and that they are complete, correct and on-time.

Additional responsibilities Include:

  • Supervises Union Maintenance department and assigns daily activities based on classification

  • Manages outside contract services for facility

  • Responsible for maintenance of all manufacturing equipment

  • Oversees preventative maintenance program

  • Responsible for purchases in support of Maintenance & Facility

  • Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives. This position description is intended to guide the activities of the Maintenance Department. Nor is it intended that this describes all the work that may be required of the person in this position.

Marginal Job Functions:

  • Assists with site EH&S support and plant regulatory compliance

  • Participates in process, product, and equipment cost analysis. Provides technical input in areas of layout, flow and equipment/process utilizing modern lean manufacturing principles.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervisory responsibility over unionized Maintenance Department.

Required Skills

REQUIRED EDUCATION

  • Bachelor of Science or BA preferred.

  • Associates Degree, Journeymen Certificate, or equivalent combination of experience and post-secondary training or education required.

Physical Requirements: (Include Aspects of KESHA form that are required)

  • Ability to work on feet up to 8+ hours a day

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders if necessary

Required Experience

  • Three to five years of manufacturing supervisory experience preferred.

  • Background in factory operations required.

  • 3 years’ experience supervising maintenance and facilities disciplines.

  • Knowledge of manufacturing organization, controls and procedures.

  • Knowledge of fundamental Safety principles for an industrial work environment

  • Knowledge of ISO 14001/9001 preferred

  • Applicant must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S.
