The Environmental Health & Safety Department at Knoll, Inc. is currently seeking a creative, organized, and energetic problem solver to join its team as a EH&S Intern. This is a paid internship, and is an outstanding opportunity for a young professional looking to gain experience.

We understand that an intern may have limited experience and expertise with the processes and tools used for their position. What we are looking for is a self-starter with a willingness to work with our team and develop those skills that can lead to future employment. You will be given opportunities to learn new processes and technologies that are important to Knoll and typical for many companies.

The intern will work primarily with our EH&S Manager and EH&S Coordinator in the development and support of the Environmental Health & Safety Program here at Knoll. Specific projects include, but may not be limited to:

  • Review and conduct job hazard analysis

  • Perform ergonomic assessments

  • Carry out training and write safety talks

  • Inspect safety equipment in the plant

  • Track training data

  • Maintain 5S within the work setting

Required Experience

  • Enrolled in an undergraduate degree program with a OSHM major, prefer

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Accuracy, thoroughness and timeliness

  • Self-starter and able to work well independently with honesty and integrity

  • Fall/Winter Internship: estimated 20 hours a week - Possible extension for Summer internship (Flexibility in start/end date and work hours based on class schedule)
