Job Description

Position Profile:

The Vendor Planner/Scheduler is responsible for planning and scheduling of raw material, component parts, services and/or finished goods to support the customer order schedule and ship date. Follow-up with suppliers to ensure quality and their on time performance to the plan.

Required Skills

  • Tactical planning to support vendor network and processes for final finished good shipments

  • Review of Supply/Demand to plan and place orders with vendors

  • Review and analyze production plan

  • Issue vendor schedules; develop capacity reports to facilitate management of vendor schedule and work load

  • Take corrective action as necessary

  • Reconcile any shortage situation

  • Coordinate the movement of Knoll supplied materials to vendors

  • Resolve quality issues; timely disposition of rejected materials

  • Monitor inventory levels to objectives; timely follow-up on discrepancies, negative inventory issues

  • Facilitate TPM issues with suppliers; arranging vendor direct shipments when necessary

  • Reconcile invoice problems with Accounts

Required Skills

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Equivalent

  • Three to five years experience in a similar position

  • Working knowledge of vendor scheduling concept/MRP

  • JD Edwards experience helpful

  • Proficiency in Excel, Access, Microsoft Word programs

  • International purchasing experience a plus

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Analytical; motivated to solve problems

  • Flexibility; able to adjust priorities as required

  • Ability to work in a team environment to coordinate materials, textiles and shipments to meet the customer's need

  • Good organizational skills
