The Tax Manager will report directly to the Director of Accounting and is primarily responsible for managing the Company’s global tax function and support tax policies and business initiatives. The Tax Manager will work directly with the Company’s tax consultants to oversee the global tax compliance, provision preparation, accounting for income taxes, tax strategy and planning, and risk management. This position will oversee the day-to-day tax operations and will lead special projects, collaborate with internal and external partners on business initiatives, and implement tax planning strategies aligned with company objectives.
Actively manage all aspects of the quarterly and annual financial reporting for income tax (ASC 740). Analyze domestic and foreign income tax provisions, domestic and local country GAAP and tax reconciliations, uncertain tax positions, APB 23, and the overall effective tax rate. Prepare tax disclosure for 10Q and 10K filings and maintain internal controls documentation in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.
Work directly with the Company’s external tax consultants to manage the consolidated U.S. and multi-state income tax compliance process, including US reporting of foreign operations (earnings & profits, GILTI, FDII, Subpart F, foreign repatriation, transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, etc.), monitoring and evaluating the implications of new tax legislation, and ensuring tax filings are timely and accurate.
Manage federal and state income/franchise tax audits, working proactively to resolve tax issues, minimize tax risk, and maintain rapport with taxing authorities.
Oversee a direct report responsible for sales and use tax compliance and provide guidance in resolving sales tax issues.
Play a key role in strategic tax planning, initiating and implementing high-value strategies to minimize our tax liability and exposure, enhance tax-efficient cash flows, reduce our effective tax rate, and streamline our organizational structure to reduce overall costs.
Assist business partners by coordinating with the Company’s tax consultants to analyze tax implications of contemplated transactions, business initiatives and proposals to aid in their decision-making.
Support the company's acquisitions, due diligence, structuring/planning, and post-acquisition integration tax matters.
Identify process and efficiency improvement opportunities including the use of technology for data collection and analysis to facilitate our tax compliance process.
Ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA and MBA is a plus.
Minimum 5 - 7 years of tax experience addressing complex domestic and international issues of large, multi-national corporations. Extensive hands-on experience in the areas of accounting for income taxes, tax compliance with corporate consolidations, tax research, and strategic planning. Blend of public accounting and private industry experience is preferred.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, tax code/regulations, and internal controls.
High level of interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills.
Strong ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Highly detail oriented.
Ability to work cross functionally in order to achieve desired results.
Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professional skepticism
Must have a moderate to high level of competency in Microsoft Excel, and experience creating and delivering power point presentations.
Knowledge of JDE and SAP/Oracle is a plus.
