POSITION PROFILE

This position is responsible for working with Knoll’s Product Development Team to determine the sourcing strategy for new products. As part of this responsibility the selected individual must be able to work with Knoll’s Procurement Team to ensure their Supplier Strategies are being incorporated in new products. The selected individual will work with recommended suppliers to ensure they are meeting the cost, schedule, quality, and technology requirements of the new product. The selected individual will work with Product Development, Procurement and Marketing to understand the needs of each stakeholder and implement solutions to meet these needs. Individuals should have a strong understanding of specific commodities that will be used in new products.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Work with Commodity Managers to select production suppliers for new product development activities.

  • Estimate product development costs and schedules for prototype activities, production tooling, components and assemblies.

  • Research latest prototype solutions and execute on Product Development prototype requirements.

  • Execute procurement activities for new product introductions with selected suppliers, and in support of project schedules.

  • Maintain current costs for new product components and assemblies.

  • Maintain and report development schedules with suppliers for new product activities.

  • Complete major award documentation, environmental data requirements, ITC, financial, data base, new supplier documents (ISO), etc.

  • Work with Procurement and Operations to ensure a well-planned turnover to Production and Production.

  • Strong industry knowledge of commodities.

  • Effectively communicate status of projects and commodity activities to key stakeholders

  • Preparation and presenting of monthly status updates.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software

Required Skills

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:

  • BS/BA Degree

  • MBA desirable

Required Experience

Industry Experience : 5 years or more procurement experience at a leadership level.
