Knoll, Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer – Seating to work in East Greenville, PA, to identify, prioritize, and implement continuous improvement projects in our seating assembly area.

Duties include: (i) developing lean manufacturing strategies and deploying them into work cells; (ii) conducting Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis of seat system; (iii) identifying deficiencies and recommending corrective actions for incorporation to Product Development; and (iv) documenting design changes and ensuring all parts and drawings are released and maintained according to the Bill of Materials.

Required Skills


  • Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering plus two (2) years of experience in a related industry position leading Kaizen implementations and lean transformations.

Required Experience


  • Must also have any experience with: (i) designing and developing new process layouts using value system mapping and line balancing techniques to eliminate process wastes and improve efficiency; (ii) working with product development, quality, and manufacturing to implement engineering change notices; (iii) utilizing problem solving techniques to identify root-cause and work with cross-functional teams to eliminate issues; (iv) coordinating quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost; (v) applying statistical methods and performing mathematical calculations to determine part variations and assist with design of experiments to identify quality issues; and (vi) working directly with new product development teams to drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
