The Director of Finance – Office Segment will be responsible to perform and lead annual, quarterly and monthly reporting activities related with closing, forecasting and budgeting; value-added financial analysis, and provide strategic support across the Office segment. Reporting directly to the VP of Finance – Office Segment, the Director of Finance – Office Segment in partnership with executive and senior management teams of Sales, Marketing, Customer Services, Procurement, and other departments across the Office segment will drive financial and long-term strategic planning for the sales and profitability of the product lines for the Office segment. In order to succeed, the candidate will utilize both relationship building and strong analytical skillsets to maintain current and develop new metrics and tracking systems to drive business effectiveness and efficiency. The position will have managerial responsibilities up to 5 managers and analysts. The ideal candidate must possess an intellectual inquisitiveness and aggressive passion to move the business forward through insightful analyses to assist management in driving executive decisions for optimal results.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Shipments, Price Discounts, Net Sales and SG&A spending in the Office Segment for closing, forecast and budgeting process, providing financial analysis and variance explanations.

  • Lead and support key product development initiatives through high quality decision such as cost analysis, make vs. buy, capital investment and new product profit goals.

  • Develop financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for our portfolio of products.

  • Proactively identify underperforming products, partner with Marketing on competitive and product trend analysis to better target price increases and maximize shareholder value.

  • Accountable for reporting and spending control in partnership with the SG&A departments.

  • Implement reports and processes within the finance function improving the quality and timeliness of reporting, insight and transaction processing.

  • Support and monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance to achieve financial and non-financial goals for the Office Segment.

  • Drive continuous improvement in reports, process and procedures by establishing and maintaining high quality assurance standards and timeliness of the internal financial reporting.

  • Perform research and analysis projects on an ad-hoc basis as needed.

  • Provide oversight, development guidance and technical knowledge to other Finance team members.

  • Comply with internal audit controls and policies.

  • Experience in Manufacturing Industry is a plus

  • Ideal candidate will have a desire and willingness and ability to grow beyond the advertised role, and at the appropriate time move to another role within finance or the broader Knoll organization.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA is a plus.

  • Minimum of five to seven (5-7 +) years managerial experience.

  • Minimum ten (10+) of progressive finance experience in an organization of similar scale and complexity.

  • Must have a high level of competency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, experience creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations.

  • Knowledge of JDE and SAP/Oracle is a plus.
