Description We are in the market for a skilled Assistant Controller to join our team in the real estate property and facilities management industry, based in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will oversee a small team and ensure accurate reporting for a portfolio of hotels. You will be involved in various aspects of finance and accounting, from auditing to overseeing financial statements. Your role will be critical in the development of your team, the growth of the fund, and the efficient management of monthly activities.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage 2-4 direct reports

• Ensure accuracy in reporting for an array of hotels

• Provide oversight and sign-off on direct report’s report review

• Ensure variances and reports prepared are accurate

• Review percentage rent schedules, lender reporting, and loan compliance

• Coordinate audit activities and ensure accuracy of fixed asset schedules

• Review incentive fee calculations and coordinate distributions between the operator and REIT

• Consolidate and prepare the quarterly financial statements

• Develop your direct reports and ensure deadlines are met

• Provide superior customer service by executing on processes and procedures

• Provide feedback on process improvement and troubleshoot escalated issues

• Ensure internal and external customer requests are handled timely and accurately

• Participate in special projects and trainings as a subject matter expert

• Partner with senior leaders on managing the growth of the fund

• Provide feedback to help manage monthly activities efficiently Requirements • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is preferred

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting

• Proficient in financial software systems and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and mentor a team

• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization

• Must have a high level of integrity, accuracy, dependability, enthusiasm, and confidentiality

• Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of real estate property and facilities management is a plus

• Must be legally authorized to work in the country where the job is located.
