Charles Schwab Manager, Software Development & Engineering in Austin, Texas

Duties : Evaluates complex user requests, projects, and clarifies objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Improves/sustains embedded system software using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise. Architects creative solutions, identifies opportunities for new tools, processes, and systems Develops and builds cloud-ready applications, and institutes an automated and repeatable CI/CD framework for our applications. Develops predictive analytics, dashboards and monitoring. Supports all phases of software development Lifecycle including production releases and support. Troubleshoots and debugs production issues, implements improvements to drive operational efficiencies. Automates process by using DevOps mindset and technologies like Jenkins, Bamboo, Ansible and GIT over Cloud and On-prem, reduce deployment time using scripts in Python and PowerShell. Researches, builds, and iterations of CICD delivery pipelines using Jenkins and Bamboo for various components of the enterprise system including Production and Non-Production Servers.

Position allows for partial remote work (2-3 times in the office). Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $143,470 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 4 years of experience in any occupation in which the required experience was gained. Position requires 4 years of related experience which must include some experience in each of the following skills: Building Microservices and automation using CICD technologies like Jenkins and Bamboo; Deploying .NET/Java apps on Cloud PaaS services like PCF; Application monitoring and setting up Alerts using Splunk, Cloud Watch and DataDog; Scripting languages like Python and PowerShell for automation; Managing and releasing database packages for Oracle and SQL Server and troubleshooting issues in real time; and Cloud Platforms on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure.
