Duties : Evaluate complex user requests, projects, and clarify objectives and functional requirements for new or modified computer programs. Improve and sustain embedded system software using specialized domain knowledge and developed business expertise. Conduct and prepare feasibility studies for new applications, existing ones, and make decisions within general parameters under little supervision. Research, build, test, and iterate on creating an enterprise-wide design system that benefits our clients as well as longer-term scalability. Produce highly usable and scalable web software solutions as a part of implementing design systems to be used across Schwab’s external client facing applications. Supporting all CI/CD pipelines phases of the software development lifecycle. Review requirements, translate these requirements into a design, implement and fully test this design, testing experience should include all aspects of testing (unit, functional, integration, end-to-end). Participating in all review and governance activities. Position allows for partial remote work. Must live within reasonable commuting distance. Reports to company office in Austin, TX. Subject to Schwab’s internal approach to workplace flexibility.

Starting compensation for this location depends on related experience. Annual bonus opportunity and other eligible earnings are not included in the range(s) above. We offer a competitive benefits package, see below for details.

Salary: $152,700 to $214,700 per year

What you have

Job Requirements : Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field and 4 years of experience in a related occupation or a Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience.

Experience must include the following: Create cloud-native applications using GCP, PCF, and Kubernetes; Support production, execute seamless application deployments, and ensure swift response times for critical trading applications using PCF, GCP, Harness, Bamboo CI and bitbucket; Detect, diagnose, and resolve issues impacting production applications using Splunk, GCP, and Python; Conduct daily proactive system monitoring review of system and application logs using Splunk and Golden signal dashboards in GCP; Design and implement solutions to increase monitoring and observability of systems at scale, enable prompt alerts, and insights into emerging trends using Splunk, GCP Monitoring, and xMatters; Enhance application reliability and optimize user experience by designing multi-region, multi cluster deployment models in Google Kubernetes Engine; and CI/CD to enhance efficiency and reliability by integrating Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Python, and bash scripting into development pipeline.
