Google Engineering Analyst Technical Lead, Cloud AI Protection in Atlanta, Georgia

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 7 years of experience in data analysis, including identifying trends, generating summary statistics, and drawing insights from quantitative and qualitative data.

  • 7 years of experience managing projects and defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

Preferred qualifications:

  • PhD or Master's degree in a technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, etc.).

  • 10 years of experience in a large-scale data analysis or data science setting.

  • Experience in one of the programming languages (e.g., Go, Python, SQL, R, Julia, C/C++, Java).

  • Experience in security threat or abuse detection.

  • Knowledge of data science-related domain (e.g., anomaly detection, time-series analysis, data quality, model evaluations, etc.).

  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts at every level in the organization.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. They use technical know-how, excellent problem-solving skills, user insights, and proactive communication to protect users and our partners from abuse across Google products like Search, Maps, Gmail, and Google Ads. On this team, you're a big-picture thinker and strategic team-player with a passion for doing what’s right. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google engineers and product managers to identify and fight abuse and fraud cases at Google speed - with urgency. Trust and Safety Cloud AI Protection's mission is to enable the rapid growth of Google Cloud Platform and Workspace AI businesses by curbing associated safety risks.

In this role, you will work with sensitive content or situations and may be exposed to graphic, controversial, and/or upsetting topics or content. You will participate in the on call rotation schedule that may occur outside of standard non-work hours.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$248,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Identify and investigate possible failure modes for GenAI products on a broad range from sociotechnical harms to misuse.

  • Design and prototype novel approaches to measure, evaluate, and mitigate these risks, using benchmarking, evaluations, dataset design, usage monitoring, aligned with the team’s broader technical agenda.

  • Provide technical leadership to multiple teams in Cloud AI Protection on solutions' architecture and design.

  • Report and present findings and solutions to internal and external audiences with effective written and verbal communication.
